Volunteers Plant Trees at the Montrose Cemetery.

Photos by Michael Quinn

15 volunteers braved the cold morning to help plant 15 Fringe and 15 Silver bell trees. For the next two years, the trees will need to be carefully maintained to nurse them into “independent living.”

This project is one of the first steps of a future plan to restore beauty to the cemetery. If you recognize any of these hardy souls, thank them on behalf of the community for their work. Over the next two years, volunteers hope to continue efforts to replace the dead and dying dogwood that, for years, enhanced our cemetery and community.

This planting is in the NW quadrant of the cemetery. Stop in and see.

All work and funds for this project came from volunteer contributions. The Montrose Cemetery would appreciate support from those not able to participate this past Saturday. Contributions for this project would be appreciated to help pay for this and other such work.
