The Historic Grey-Oliver Cottage is located in the southeast corner of the cemetery. Built in the early 1850's, the Cottage was placed on the National Register of Historic Places along with a dozen other Montrose homes in 1976. It was originally located on Second Street, just two blocks from its present location. For many years it was the home of Ann Sibley Oliver (great-granddaughter of Cyrus Sibley) and her husband Jack Oliver. When the property changed hands after their deaths, the new owner Robert Merritt donated the Cottage to a group of local citizens who raised the necessary money to have it relocated and restored.

The Montrose Historic Preservation Society has now undertaken the project to furnish and equip the Cottage for display and by arrangement, for use by the community.
